Halloween Hootenanny to be presented on October 26

Halloween Hootenanny to be presented on October 26

Put on a costume and join the Tioga Arts Council for a Halloween Hootenanny on Sunday, Oct. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. at CloudCroft Studios, located at 1003 Sanford Rd. in Owego. Come and enjoy a live musical performance by Sean Tobin and The Boardwalk Fire, free art activities, as well as other tricks, treats, and hauntings.

Born and raised on the New Jersey shore, Sean Tobin was influenced by folk-singing troubadours and high-energy rockers alike. His high-energy performances and rock-tinged releases are due mostly in part to his upbringing in the Jersey shore bar scene. Tobin honed his craft by playing countless shows in dives, clubs, and basements, as well as during his time busking on the streets of Galway, Ireland, throughout 2015 and 2017.

Sean Tobin will be a featured performer for the Halloween Hootenanny, set for Oct. 26 at CloudCroft Studios. Photo provided.

Tobin has performed at such festivals as SXSW, Americanafest, North2Shore, and Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings, and has opened for the likes of Jason Isbell, Rhett Miller, and many more. His fifth album, Seasick, will be released on Oct. 24, 2025.

Inspired by artist Edward Gorey and the 2025 Edward Gorey House – Envelope Art Contest and its theme, “The Evil Garden,” TAC will offer two FREE art activities as part of its Halloween Hootenanny.

They include: the 2025 Edward Gorey House – Envelope Art Contest, “The Evil Garden,” and Edward Gorey-inspired Paper Dolls.

Both activities will be available from noon to 3 p.m. in the barn. All youth participants will receive a small trick-or-treat bag. More activity details are available at www.tiogaartscouncil.org.

The Cellar Restaurant will have food and beverages available for purchase during the event. They will also have door prizes available for all registrants and trick-or-treat bags for kids.

Even though the Halloween Hootenanny and its art activities are FREE, registration is required at https://forms.gle/syByaFFJ4CVg6vDKA. This is a rain or shine event.

Halloween Hootenanny is made possible by Asbury Sunset. A special thanks to the Tioga Downs Regional Community Foundation and the Tioga County Youth Bureau, who made free art activities and trick-or-treat bags possible.

Thanks are extended to the Cellar Restaurant for being an event partner.
