On Oct. 18, from 1-4 p.m., a “No Kings” rally will take place at the Courthouse Square in Owego, N.Y. According to the sponsors of the rally, Indivisible Tioga NY and the Tioga County Democratic Committee, the rally is being held to “protest activities by the current administration that are illegal and unconstitutional.”
In a press release received by Kevin Millar, he wrote, “This No Kings Rallies on October 18 will be the largest peaceful protest in American history.”
He continued, “America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, but if we want to be free, we’ve got to be brave.”
Millar noted that there are over 2,100 “No Kings” rally sites across America, with Tioga County being one of them. You can visit NoKings.org for more information.
Speakers scheduled at the rally include Ethan Gormley, Regional Organizer at Citizens Action; Jo Ellen (Jody) Rose, candidate for Tioga County Legislative District 2; Wendy Wall, distinguished history professor at Binghamton University; Scott Parrott, professor of public health at Rutgers University; and Pastor Bruce Gillette, Owego Presbyterian Union Church.
