Celebrating with a large group of supporters, Catholic Charities of Tompkins / Tioga (CCTT) held an official ribbon cutting with the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce on Monday, July 8, and at the Grand Opening of their new location at 932 W. River Rd. in Nichols, N.Y.
Renee Spear, executive director for CCTT, commented on the show of support, stating, “This is so encouraging; to see other organizations and agencies that we partner with all here to celebrate this milestone with us.”
Spear also took note of the local officials and representatives that were present, as well as many devoted volunteers.
In this new location, CCTT will continue to provide resources through the Tioga Outreach Center as well as office space for many of their additional services including SNAP enrollment, developmental and intellectual disability programs, employment assistance, and housing programs, to name a few.
Spear commented on how grateful she is for the new landlord and lease agreement, as well as the availability and location of the new space.
“We were determined to stay in this part of the county to continue to provide the services to people in need,” Spear said, adding, “We are looking forward to strengthening our presence here and we are committed to working alongside the other human services organizations here in Tioga County.”
Spear also noted that this relocation all came together thanks to the support of the Diocese of Rochester, the new landlords, CCTT staff, and overall community support.
The CCTT Outreach Center is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
