Good news! More financial resources are going to be available for future student scholarships for higher education. The Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation is pleased to announce that it has achieved 88 percent of its goal to raise $ 25,000 over two years for future student scholarships for college.
To date, community supporters and Friends of the Foundation have donated $22,150 to help students meet the financial demands in furthering their education.
Kathryn Curatolo, vice-president of the Foundation, recently thanked those who have contributed and invited community members to help reach the goal over the next four months.
“I encourage you to donate to our Scholarship Fund. These resources allow us to support students (like myself back in 2013) and encourage them to develop lasting community bonds,” said Curatolo, exclaiming, “Take it from me, it works.”
The Owego based Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation has distributed $15,000 in student scholarships and youth volunteer grants in 2019 and during its 25th year promoting community youth development in Tioga County.
