Do you have a blueberry recipe that everyone raves about? You’re invited to enter it in the Bake-off at Berkshire’s Blueberry and Book Festival, planned for July 20.

There are five categories, all featuring blueberries. They include pies; muffins and coffee cakes; baked desserts gluten-free pies, muffins, coffee cakes and desserts; and jams and jellies.

The Bake-off, sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Berkshire, will benefit the Helping Hands Food Pantry.

A representative of Cornell Cooperative Extension who is experienced in judging at local fairs will judge entries. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded in each category and best of show.

Applications are available at www.redbrickchurch.org or at the Berkshire Free Library and are due by July 7.  Entries that require refrigeration cannot be accepted.

The Bake-off entries should be brought to the Berkshire Fire Station between 8:15 and 9 a.m. on the day of the festival. Winners will be announced at 11:40 a.m. Following the judging, the baked goods will be sold by the piece, all to benefit the food pantry.

Other activities to enjoy at the festival include Blueberry Pancakes from 7 to 10 a.m. and a Chicken BBQ at noon, both in the Fire Station; live music all day; an art show; vintage cars and trucks; meet and greet with local authors; children’s activities; over two dozen vendors; an antique appraisal by Bob Connelly; and much more.
