On Sept. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Animal Care Sanctuary, the Bradford County Humane Society, and the Humane Society of the United States will host Animal Cruelty and Fighting Investigation training at the Comfort Inn, located at 2160 Elmira St. in Sayre, Pa.
This free training is open to law enforcement, animal control, humane investigators, code enforcement officers, veterinarians, and prosecutors.
Topics to be covered include a background on animal fighting and illegal animal abuse in Pennsylvania, including Libre’s Law; the link between animal abuse and other violent crimes; investigating cruelty and fighting complaints, from first response to filing charges; and recognizing key evidence, warrants, and statements.
This training is approved by MPOETC for seven hours of CLEE credit. The Bradford County Commissioners will provide lunch.
