Inspired by an ancient Celtic Christmas Carol, a Christmas Cantata, “Stars of Glory”, radiates the promise of the Christmas miracle.
A mix of 11 traditional carols, including some beautiful Irish melodies performed by a combined choir of singers from the churches of the Newark Valley area, invite our gaze heavenward in anticipation of Christ’s birth.
The cantata will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. This free musical celebration of joyous expectation will be directed by Jewel Griffith, accompanied by Brenda Yeier, and held at the Newark Valley United Methodist Church located on Main Street in Newark Valley.
If inclement weather causes cancellation, the Cantata will be held on the following Sunday, Dec. 17, at the same time and location.
