Hometown News – U.S. Air Force Airman Kaitlyn M. Meissner

U.S. Air Force Airman Kaitlyn M. Meissner graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Meissner is the daughter of Nicole T. Mellem of Berkshire, N.Y., and sister of Keith Mellem of Berkshire, N.Y., and granddaughter of Carin Meissner of Apalachin, N.Y., and Mildred and Frederick Mellem of Whitney Point, N.Y.

She is a 2011 graduate of Newark Valley High School, Newark Valley, N.Y.
