Country music superstar Travis Tritt to perform at Tioga Downs

Country music superstar, Travis Tritt, will take the outdoor summer concert stage at Tioga Downs in Nichols, N.Y. on Saturday, June 17 at 8 p.m. A favorite of country music fans since his debut nearly 28 years ago, Tritt owns one of the most recognizable voices not only in country music, but also throughout the entire music industry.  

The two-time Grammy award winner, three-time CMA Award winner and Country Music Hall of Fame member is known for such hits as “Anymore,” “Best of Intentions,” “Foolish Pride,” “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Here’s a Quarter,” “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” and “It’s A Great Day to be Alive,” among many others. With more than 25 million in career album sales, of which seven albums are certified platinum or higher, as well as a lengthy list of hit singles and several number ones, Tritt’s distinguished, long-standing career is a remarkable success story.  

Often referred to as one of the “Class of ’89,” Tritt launched his music career alongside country music greats such as Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson, all of whom dominated the charts in the 1990’s. Tritt, a Marietta, Georgia native, takes significant influence from Southern rock, blues and gospel music, which sets him apart from his ’89 classmates. Another distinctive quality, unlike many of his fellow country stars, you won’t find Tritt sporting a signature cowboy hat.  

Via an interview shared by his public relations firm, Tritt shared, “One of the things that has kept me going all of these years is that my voice doesn’t sound like anybody else’s, and people recognize my voice immediately.”

When asked what fans should expect at his show, Tritt described the experience as, “We play nothing but solid hits going back to 1989 until today, and fans really enjoy that. On stage there is nothing that gives more satisfaction than to see fans sing every single song and know all of the lyrics by heart. That’s a really cool thing to see.”

Tritt also mentioned that he is grateful that his catalog of songs brings back memories for fans. Tritt said, “You can remember certain events in your life by the soundtrack playing, and we’ve been able to have a lot of hit records that takes fans back to a special place in their lives.”

Tritt has performed at several sporting events such as the Super Bowl and World Series, among others, and has also had an incredible career outside of music, too, most notably acting in several movies and television series, along with writing soundtracks to movies and narrating films. 

A priority for Tritt is to balance family and life on the road. Tritt explained, “When we book tours and concerts, I always try to block time out for special days. I haven’t missed a holiday or birthday party,” and referring to his wife and three children, added, “To be at home with family gives me the best of both worlds.”

When asked about his longevity in the music business, Tritt said, “I consider myself to be extremely fortunate. When it first got started, I couldn’t have imagined it could have gone as far as it has. I’m blessed, thankful and humbled to still be able to go out and do it. I can’t think of the word retirement, I absolutely love what I do and performing for people.”
