Photo: OA sculpture receives a facelift

The sculpture “Appeal to the Great Spirit,” located in the OFA lobby, recently received a face-lift of sorts. The OA maintenance crew opened up the case and repaired the base of the sculpture where a piece on the lower left side had chipped off a few years ago. Then the interior was cleaned, as was the glass, inside and out. The base’s wood veneer was then sanded, and three coats of polyurethane were applied. Finally, the old base trim, which had been scratched and chipped over the years, was removed and a new oak trim was applied around the bottom of the base. (OA Schools Photo)
