Black Cat Gallery announces featured artist and 1st Friday ArtWalk activities

The Featured Artist of the Month at Black Cat Gallery for April is Nancy Eckstrom, soap maker. Eckstrom has been hand crafting soap for more than 20 years using food quality plant based ingredients including herbal infusions grown in her own garden. Locally produced honey, beeswax, and FarmHouse Brewery beers are incorporated into several formulations.

Eckstrom’s soap is scented using only pure essential oils that are distilled from plants. Look for fabulous soaps, made by Nancy, under the label “Three Maries”.

For the 1st Friday ArtWalk, on April from 6 to 8:30 p.m., the Black Cat Gallery is featuring the music of Trish and Dannielle on guitar and fiddle. The duo has been playing together for many years, blending traditional tunes, modern folk and laughter into each performance.

The Black Cat Gallery is offering a “Second Saturday Craft Class ” on Sunday, April 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the gallery in Owego. Craft Yarn Council knitting instructor Amy Miles will be teaching a course in arm knitting. The class is easy and suitable for all skill levels from complete beginner to experienced knitter. All materials will be provided.

Those interested in the class are asked to signup and prepay the class fee of $25 at least 48 hours before the class begins to ensure materials are reserved. You can call 687-5550 to reserve your space.
