The Owego Apalachin Board of Education has begun its search for a new Superintendent. The Board has dedicated itself to finding an outstanding leader that will be committed to the district and the outstanding education it offers.
The Board has selected the consulting firm of Castallo and Silky from Syracuse, N.Y. to assist with the superintendent search. Alan Pole is working directly with the Board as well as four interview committees. In its meetings with Pole, the Board has established the interview process in addition to the recruiting and interview timeline.
The Board of Education has selected candidates to be interviewed by members of the Board on Feb. 29, March 2 and March 3.
Finalist interviews will be conducted on March 14, 15 and 16, 2016. Five different committees have been established to interview the three finalists on these dates. Teachers, administrators, support staff, students, and the community will all provide input to the Board of Education about the finalists.
The Owego Apalachin Board of Education is very interested in soliciting feedback from the community on the final three superintendent candidates. Parents and community members who are interested in serving on the Community Interview Committee should notify Marcy Hill in the District Office no later than Thursday, Feb. 11.
Members of the Community Interview Committee must be available to attend a workshop for all committee members on March 9 at 3:45 p.m., as well as the three finalist interviews on March 14, 15, and 16 at 4:30 p.m. each afternoon.
It is important that all members who serve on the Community Interview Committee understand that they must attend the workshop and all three interview sessions.

Once a listing of all interested community members has been established, a committee of seven to ten people will be selected by random by the Owego-Apalachin Board of Education.
