Tioga Opportunities, Inc. Aging Services to host identity theft presentation

Identity theft has become more common in recent years, and unfortunately, anyone can find himself or herself as a victim. The Department of Aging at Tioga Opportunities, Inc., in conjunction with the Division of Consumer Protection from the New York State Department of State, will be offering a seminar on identity theft and scams on Friday, Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Countryside Community Center located at 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd. in Owego.

Topics covered will include “How identity theft occurs,” “Why seniors are so vulnerable,” and “Types of scams,” among others.

Join them and educate yourself on ways to minimize your chances of becoming a victim of identity theft. This presentation is free to the public, but registration is required.
