ACHIEVE is pleased to announce that it received a grant award of $8,420 from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation. The funding will renovate ACHIEVE’s Tioga County Day Habilitation facility.
The award will renovate the day habilitation kitchen and provide updated technology for ACHIEVE’s day habilitation program. Individuals in the program will benefit from a safer environment that will promote life skills. The Day Habilitation program serves residents of Tioga County who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Mary Jo Thorn, CEO of ACHIEVE, stated in a release, “ACHIEVE is very grateful to The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation for this grant. Individuals who receive services at the Tioga Day Habilitation facility will benefit through new learning technology and updated facilities.”
ACHIEVE is the Broome-Tioga Chapter of NYSARC Inc. It was founded in 1952 by 10 local families who were seeking social opportunities and educational enrichment for their disabled children. In 63 years the organization has grown to serve over 1,800 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
