Fall festivities at the Binghamton Zoo

The Binghamton Zoo is pleased to announce the dates for “Howloween” at the Zoo and Boo at the Zoo for the month of October.

“Howloween” at the Zoo will be held on Oct. 3, 4, 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last ticket sold at 3 p.m.). This family favorite event will have numerous activities perfect for children between the ages of three and 10. Kids can participate in pumpkin bowling, a pirate ring toss, and numerous other activities to win prizes and candy. There will also be Halloween craft stations and face painting. For an additional $2, anyone can purchase a pumpkin to paint and take home. All are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes for a chance to win a costume contest.

The Snow Queen will be at the zoo on Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Young princesses and princes will have the chance to meet the snow queen for a photo opportunity and will create their own royal craft to take home.

Star Wars characters will be at the zoo on Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Characters will be invading the zoo for photo opportunities and visitors will have the chance to take part in Star Wars crafts and activities.

The 24th annual Boo at the Zoo is just around the corner! Those who are daring enough to enter the haunted zoo will experience a zoo full of terrifying scenes and creepy characters. The event will take place on October 16, 17, 23 and 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Boo at the Zoo is aimed for older zoo guests and not recommended for those under the age of 10. Strollers will not be permitted during the event. Guests are welcome to wear costumes, but masks are not allowed.

Fall zoo hours will begin on Oct. 1. From Oct. 1 to Oct. 12, the zoo will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last ticket sold at 3 p.m.). The zoo will be closed to the public from Oct. 13 to Oct. 30 for Boo at the Zoo preparations. Starting on Oct. 31, the zoo will only be open on the weekends throughout the end of November.

Admission for both “Howloween” at the Zoo and Boo at the Zoo is $6 for members and $8 for non-members.
