Owl Workshop planned for Aug. 15

Owl Workshop planned for Aug. 15On Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bement-Billings Farmstead, there will be a Tuscarora Beaded Owl Workshop. Participants will make a white owl pin / necklace, 2 to 3-inches, with raised beadwork. Bring scissors.

Rosie Hill, a Native Tuscarora beading artist, will instruct the class. Call Leslie to register at 642-5412 by Aug 7.

The cost is $35, and $33 for Newark Valley Historical Society members.

Rosie is a highly regarded artist whose works are collected by the New York State Museum, the Smithsonian, and British Museums.

Also, be sure to visit the Tioga County Historical Society Museum and view the exhibit of Native American artifacts. The exhibit is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Thursday night until 8 p.m.
