Waverly’s Attic to take place on Sunday

The Susquehanna River Archaeological Center (SRAC) is gearing up for the third annual Waverly’s Attic in downtown Waverly, N.Y. on Sunday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event includes a street fair, large flea market, music, food vendors, appraisals, free SRAC museum tours, and an auction with some very unique items to include autographed memorabilia such as the Downtown Abbey Cast (11 x 14) photo (with certificate of authenticity), a Star Trek movie poster signed by the original cast (with certificate of authenticity), a Star Wars movie poster signed by original cast (with certificate of authenticity), and an autographed electric guitar by “The Rolling Stones,” and much more.

These items are accompanied by many local gift certificates donated by local businesses and restaurants as well as other items such as a jukebox, tools, artwork, and restored antiques.

The auction portion of the event is already underway online and the public can view and bid online on each item by visiting WaverlysAttic.com. The auction will then transition into a live event at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2 as a silent auction; and then transitioning into the live auction, taking place from 2 to 5 p.m.

SRAC’s Executive Director and Cofounder Deb Twigg explained, “This is the big fundraiser for SRAC and we put a lot of work into this every year. There is something for everybody planned with great food and music, drawing for prizes several times an hour, approximately thirty street vendors, a huge flea market, and even a hot, wing eating contest at the Pub at 1 p.m.

A thanks is extended to all of the businesses that donated items for the auction and sponsored the event.
