Farmhouse Brewery to celebrate one-year anniversary

The FarmHouse Brewery is pleased to announce that they on July 25 are celebrating their one-year anniversary as a New York State “Farm Brewery, offering over a dozen taps of our NYS labeled farm fresh ales. The FarmHouse Brewery is also Tioga County’s only malthouse and farm brewery.

In celebrating their one-year anniversary, the brewery is offering three new “soured” beers and a “wild” yeast beer release at their Tap Room location in Owego, N.Y. on Saturday, July 25 from noon to 8 p.m.

“Crazy Daizy Went Wild” is a soured version of their Belgian tripel and will be available on tap and in bottles.

“The Angus” is a soured version of our Belgian dubbel and will be available on tap and in bottles.

“The Barb” is soured rhubarb Berliner Weisse and will be available on tap and in bottles. “Commander Bovine” is a wild brettanomyces yeast double IPA and will be available only on tap.

They are licensed as a “NYS Farm Brewery,” and one of only about 80 within the state. The farm brewery license requires a graduating percentage of hops and barley-grown in state, eventually capping out at 90 percent in 2024. By operating their own in-house malting tanks, the brewery is easily meeting 100 percent of their own base malt grain bill, as well as a portion of the minimums for a select few breweries and distilleries across the state.

The FarmHouse Brewery’s dedication to sourcing local ingredients doesn’t stop with beer; they make the greatest effort to find farm fresh seasonal grains, fruits and vegetables to incorporate into their handcrafted ales and hard ciders. At their Tap Room you will find baked goods, jams and jellies, soaps and craft items from local artisans. Even their glassware, kegs, and brewing equipment are purchased from New York State suppliers whenever possible.

Malthouse and Brewery location is at 2 Whig St., #A, Newark Valley, N.Y. The Tap Room is located at 14 George St. in Owego, N.Y.
