State Police make major drug arrest in Broome County

On Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, members of the New York State Police, the Vestal Police Department, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Endicott Police K-9 unit arrested a Village of Endicott resident after search warrants in the village of Endicott lead to the discovery of illegal drugs with a street-value of more than $180,000 and a large amount of cash.

State Police charged George E. Clarke Jr., age 38, of Endicott, N.Y. with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (Class A-1 felony); Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 1st degree (Class C Felony); Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (Class B Felony) and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

George E. Clarke Jr., was arrested after police executed search warrants at 113 Fillmore Ave., and 702 Monroe St. in the Village of Endicott. State Police seized one kilogram of cocaine (equal to 2.2. pounds), twenty-two (22) pounds of marihuana, two ounces of methamphetamine, more than $5,000 in cash, and a 2007 Avalanche Pickup truck during the searches.

The search warrants were the result of an investigation conducted by the investigating agencies listed above and began as a result of information developed by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

George E. Clarke Jr. was arraigned in the Town of Union Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
