Hiawatha District Cub Scout Recruitment underway 

The Baden-Powell Council Boy Scouts of American is conducting their annual drive to recruit new scouts into the Boy Scout Program.

Cub Scout recruitment is being held at area elementary schools throughout Broome and Tioga Counties. Boys grade one through grade five are eligible to join Cub Scouts.

There are 22 Cub Scout Packs within the Hiawatha District including Apalachin, Binghamton, Candor, Deposit, Endicott, Endwell, Johnson City, Kirkwood, Maine, Owego, Newark Valley, Nichols, Susquehanna Valley, Vestal and Windsor.

Boy Scout Troops are also recruiting new members, ages 11 to 18 years old. There are 28 Boy Scout Troops throughout Broome and Tioga counties.

The Boy Scouts continue to be the nation’s leaders in youth development programs that focus on values, leadership, physical fitness and citizenship.

Boys and girls ages 14 to 20 years old are invited to join a Venturing Crew. Crews can specialize in a variety of avocation interests and hobbies.
