The Tioga Adult Learning Lab (T.A.L.L.) has announced the November 2015 computer class and workshop schedule. T.A.L.L. serves adult students throughout the Southern Tier, and is operated by Literacy Volunteers of Broome-Tioga Counties, Inc. in partnership with Tioga County, N.Y. T.A.L.L. provides instruction in basic computer applications, and offers vocational assistance to those seeking employment. There are no fees for any of the classes or services T.A.L.L. provides.
Registrations are now being accepted for the following courses: “Basics of Microsoft Windows 7, Word 2010 and Excel 2010” beginning Monday, Nov. 2. This comprehensive class, popular with experienced users and beginners alike, will meet every Monday and Tuesday evening for six weeks. Instruction will focus on the Microsoft Windows operating system with instruction on file management, Microsoft Word, a word-processing software program, and Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program.
Other classes offered in November include “E-Mail Basics”, held 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5; “The Internet Made Easy”, held 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12; “Basics of Microsoft PowerPoint”, a program designed to create and give presentations, held 6 to 8 p.m. and meeting Wednesday, Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 19 (attend both sessions).
All classes will be held at the Owego Free Academy, Room 105. Students need to pre-register by calling the Literacy Volunteers office at (607) 778-6406.
