The 10th Mountain Division U.S. Army Band will play at the Lehigh Valley Ray Shaver Depot in Newark Valley, New York, on Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m.
The 10th Mountain Division was officially activated at Fort Drum, New York, on Feb. 13, 1985, as a light infantry division designed for rapid deployment and worldwide contingency operations.
Since 2001, the 10th Mountain Division has been the most deployed unit in the entire U.S. military. Its combat brigades have seen over 30 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as Syria and parts of Africa in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Join them to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with the10th Mountain Division Band on June 27.
The Kirby Band will start the day’s entertainment at noon, followed by the Country Pickers at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and free parking can be found at several locations throughout the village. In the event of heavy rain, the concert will move to the Newark Valley High School.
