Last week, the Chair of the Republican Party in Tioga County, Don Castellucci, gathered with the party’s legislative candidates to officially announce their campaigns. The announcement took place in front of the Ronald Dougherty County Office Building in Owego.

Running as incumbents in this year’s General Election are Chairwoman Marte Sauerbrey, Legislator Loretta Sullivan, and Legislator Tracy Monell.

Dennis Mullen, who filled a seat upon the passing of Legislator Ray Case, will be running to fill a full term. Legislator Tracy Monell, incumbent, is also running unopposed.

New in the running is Cliff Balliet, from Crestview Heights. Balliet will be running in the General Election to fill a seat vacated by Dick Huttleston, who is retiring. Cecilia Menhennett, a democrat from Endicott, is also running to fill this seat.

The primary election in Tioga County, N.Y. is Sept. 13, with the General Election on Nov. 6. None of the legislative candidates are being contested in the primary election.
