The Candor Community Chorus will usher in the winter holiday season with their concert, “A Festive Noel” on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Candor High School Auditorium, Academy Street.
The program celebrates the holidays with selections ranging from a rousing chorus from Handel’s “Messiah” to traditional carols with a gospel feel, a favorite Hanukkah song, and some popular seasonal tunes. Shakespeare aficionados will appreciate “Winter is at Hand”, with word from Richard III.
Dave Jackson directs the program accompanied by Brenda Yeier at the piano. Admission is free, but the chorus gratefully accepts donations to support their music library and scholarship program. There will also be a raffle for gift baskets.
