2017 Dash for Cash Horse Race at the Tioga County Fair

Come to the Tioga County Fair on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. for a night filled with good times for the family and for the first ever Tioga County Fair Dash for Cash Horse Race in front of the grandstands.

You will watch local riders go head to head as they battle for the Tioga County Fair bragging rights for being the fastest horse and rider in the county. This show is sure to delight people of all ages and interests, from fast horses to stunt riders and clowns.

If you like horseracing, you are going to love the Dash for Cash Horse Race. The Tioga County Fair Board has opened its doors for all horse riders to showcase their fastest horse for a purse of $1,500.

Each of the riders will be given a number and their number will be drawn one hour prior to the start of the race. The number of horses will be divided up into five rotations. The horses will be only running against other horses in their rotation. They must win the rotation to advance to the finals where all the winners will compete against each other for the prize money and to be crowned the Tioga County Fair Dash for Cash Horse Racing Champion.

If the speed from the horses does not get you excited, then perhaps the famous trick rider Emily McRay from Kissimmee, Fla. can dazzle you with her moves on the back of a galloping horse. You will see her do some stunts that have only been seen on television. You are not going to want to miss Emily as she performs between the rotations of horses that are competing.

Also, Rusty the clown will be on hand to keep you in stitches with his craziness. This is sure to be a fast paced, family fun night on Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Tioga County Fair in Owego, N.Y.
