Trump said that losing isn’t an option for him

Dear Editor,

Hello America! Did you know there were other choices for the president besides Republican and Democrat? Did you vote for a party or for the person and what they stood for? Did you even know what they stood for?

There are two majority parties, three third parties on over 20 state ballots, five third parties with less than 20 state ballots, and 21 third parties and Independent candidates on less than five state ballots.

I am asking myself, “Why didn’t the news media focus on some of the others instead of just two parties?” Our newspapers and television stations only report on “newsworthy”, or better still, what will sell or make ratings go up instead of true, honest reporting. We the people set this precedence, the question is are we going to accept this or do we really want change?

Now, we the people are focusing on hate, discontent and bigotry instead of peace and joining together to make America strong. So many reporters, our Senate minority leader Harry Reid and others say Trump didn’t win the “popular vote”! That is wrong. Of our 51 states, 29 carried Trump including Arkansas! Yes, he also got the electoral votes, but he got the popular votes first.

Having this been said, and by the way, I didn’t vote for Hillary or Trump. Let’s do what we can to help America heal. I’m 80 years old and I want to see this madness stopped, put it where it belongs in the past. We need to live in the present in order to help our future generations.

Stop destroying America with hatred and lies. Get over it! Mr. Trump is our future president. We have four years to determine if he is a good president. At least give him a chance. Let’s focus on what he can do!

Mr. Trump is a businessman, and what he does best is pick the right people to help him achieve his goals and do the job. He may or may not be a good president, but I am confident he will pick people that will make the right decision and keep his campaign slogan, “Make America Strong”, which will make him a good president.

He said losing isn’t an option for him.

Sincerely,

Jane P. Linnell
