Located at 16 Whig St. in the heart of Newark Valley, N.Y., Buff Daisy Fitness is a new fitness center that offers clients the opportunity to utilize topnotch fitness equipment and also attend some of the most appealing classes offered today. Not just for the experienced athlete, Buff Daisy Fitness is for beginners, too, and for anyone who wants to improve their overall health and fitness level.

Owner Daisy Williams-Mangieri, a Newark Valley native, shared, “The goal of my gym is to create a warm and friendly environment where everyone is welcome to work out. I offer lots of programs from one-on-ones to small group training.”

A grand opening was held on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the 16 Whig St. property, which was previously home to a feed mill, a tool and die shop and Motionetics, among other businesses.

Walk into the back room of the building now housing Buff Daisy Fitness where Williams-Mangieri has brought in premier fitness equipment and it is hard to imagine that the property was anything different.

Daisy returned to the Newark Valley area to be closer to family and to allow her daughter to experience the quality of life she enjoyed here. New Windsor, N.Y., near Newburgh, was home for about five years, where she owned a similar business.

Williams-Mangieri holds a NASM certification in Specialization in Nutrition and has been a personal trainer for ten years. A graduate of Newark Valley High School and dedicated to fitness since her high school days, Daisy has participated in WNBF and WNBA pro bodybuilder events for the past five years, and has competed in and won multiple events, bringing home an array of medals which she now proudly displays in her office. The year 2015 took her on the road to five competitions, and as time allows in the future, Daisy hopes to be able to continue competing.

Daisy shared, “Exercise saved my life,” and explained that as a young girl she dealt with self-esteem issues. Now focused on inspiring others, Daisy feels that weight training and other programs she offers can help clients achieve whatever personal goals they set. Daisy has worked with people of all fitness levels and currently has clients in every age group, including 70-something.

From free weights to cardio equipment, aerobic classes to nutrition expertise, the programs offered at Buff Daisy Fitness will appeal to many people.

One of the most popular programs at Buff Daisy Fitness is called Beach Body Bootcamp. A small group personal training session with about four to eight people for eight weeks, the program is designed to burn the most calories and fat with high energy sessions that keep you moving.

Other classes available include the widely known Zumba, Hip Hop and Pilates, as well as beginner classes and more intense workouts called Get on the Ball, Butt and Gut and Pump and Jam.

Buff Daisy Fitness is open Monday through Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Williams-Mangieri invites new clients to stop in and experience “Sweat Therapy,” where everyone leaves feeling good after working out.
