Tioga State Bank recently presented a $500 check to the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT). The donation was collected during Tioga State Bank’s “Blue Jeans Friday” and additional contributions came from employees.
“Blue Jeans Friday” allows an employee to have a dress down day in exchange for a donation that’s then awarded to vital community agencies. This donation was given to further grow the CFTT Tioga County, N.Y. Discretionary Fund.
The CFTT Tioga, N.Y. Discretionary Fund was established to distribute un-restricted funds through an annual grant making process. The Advisory Board oversees their county grant making process and awards grants based on the impact the grant will have on the ever-changing needs in their community.
While most funds at CFTT are created to address very specific areas of need as well as the donors’ areas of interest, Discretionary Funds are extremely important because they make grants to organizations that address immediate and current community needs.

Then choose “Tioga County Discretionary Fund” from the drop down list. Donations can also be mailed in or dropped off at the CFTT office at 104 W. Lockhart St. in Sayre.
