Donald “Nick” F. Nichols, of Nichols, N.Y. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at the Elderwood Healthcare Facility in Waverly. Nick, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on Aug. 9, 1926 in Smithboro, N.Y. – a son of the late Fay and Maude (Seager) Nichols and stepson of Charles Snyder. He was a graduate of the Nichols High School.
Following high school was employed as a pipeline worker until a injury caused him to be unable to work. Nick then became an “entrepreneur ” and could sell most anything from cows, horses, real estate and always had a car for sale at his home. Nick was an avid fisherman, enjoyed attending auctions and had a great love for horses.
He will be greatly missed by his son Boyd (Andrea) Nichols; his grandchildren: Brian and Lindsey; and six great grandchildren. Many friends and neighbors also survive. Nick was welcomed into heaven by his loving wife of 60 years, Jenny who had passed away on Dec. 30, 2012.
