Identity theft has become more common in recent years, and unfortunately, anyone can become a victim. The Department of Aging at Tioga Opportunities, Inc., in conjunction with the Division of Consumer Protection from the Department of State, will be offering a seminar on identity theft and scams on Friday, Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Countryside Community Center located on 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd. in Owego.
Topics covered will include “How identity theft occurs”, “Why seniors are so vulnerable”, and “Types of scams”, among others.
