A record-setting $90,000 was raised for the Sayre House of Hope at the annual Guthrie Gala, which was held on Sept. 12 in Sayre, Pa. The 2015 Guthrie Gala was sponsored by Elderwood at Waverly and Henry Dunn Insurance & Real Estate, and was attended by 300 guests.

The Sayre House of Hope, which will receive the funds, is a residence that provides family-centered lodging to patients and their loved ones while receiving medical treatment at Guthrie.

Event Coordinator Nichole Cocco said, “This was an extraordinary effort by everyone involved, with ticket sales and over seventy-seven donors and sponsors contributing to this incredible amount. We are pleased to raise these funds to benefit a worthy cause, one that has been supported by employees, physicians, and the community for many years.”

Guests of the Gala were treated to gourmet specialties provided by Serendipity Catering, Ithaca, N.Y. in a station atmosphere throughout the Guthrie Sayre Clinic Atrium. Wine and beer-tasting stations, where guests were treated to samples of the newest wines and craft beers, were offered by Glenora Wine Cellars and Skerpons Beverage. A ten-piece band, Into the Spin, provided live music. Additional information regarding the Guthrie Gala can be found online at www.guthrie.org/gala.
