Annie’s ride raises funds for a good cause A young woman was recently severely injured in a motorcycle crash. But the local community rallied around her with an event last Saturday that brought together bikes, hot rods, music, and more to benefit the Annie Lineburg Fund.

Twenty-one-year-old Annie Lineburg of Athens, Pa., was paralyzed from the waist down in a motorcycle accident this spring, but event organizer Robert “Big Bob” Keener said Lineburg’s young age has doctors and supporters hopeful for her recovery.

Keener has organized many benefit rides in the past, but said this ride was unique.

“This one came to me,” he said. “Jack and Bonnie Lineburg (Annie Lineburg’s parents) are friends of mine. They came to my shop and told me what happened.”

Keener said a lot of Annie Lineburg’s medical procedures and necessary equipment were not covered by insurance.

The Athens, Pa., Sayre, Pa. Legion, and Nichols American Legions, along with the Towanda AMVETS Riders, hosted the event that departed from Tioga Downs in Nichols, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 19, and ended, following a 120-mile ride at the Nichols American Legion where there was live entertainment and more.

Hundreds arrived for the ride and the event. To learn more about the fund, contact Keener by calling (670) 425-2898.
