Alfred A. Gagnon, age 79 of Candor, N.Y. passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Somerville, Mass. in 1936 to the late Alfred W. and Freda Berger Gagnon and served his country in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.
Al is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane, and his seven children – Jillian (William) Apgar, Paul (Lissa) Dello Russo, Gary Dello Russo, John Dello Russo, Kimberly (Steven) Pantle, Holly (Maan) Alzitoon, and Nancy (Scott) Jerabek. He is also survived by his brothers Billy, Jackie and Jimmy; his sisters Jeanne and Karen; his grandchildren Keith, Billy, Chase, Sarah, Elliott, Haley, Alexander, Andrew, Owen, Joseph and Sophie; as well as many nieces and nephews who he was affectionately known as “Crazy Uncle Al”.
In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his sisters, Dolly and Penny.
He will be greatly missed by his family for his love, sense of humor, and his passion for the Red Sox and fishing. He will be missed by many. A celebration of his life will be announced by his family at a later date.
