On May 28, 2015, The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a male subject in connection with a burglary that occurred in the Village of Candor on the morning of May 11, 2015 at the Candor Emergency Medical Services building.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested 52-year old Daniel M. Merrill of Spencer, N.Y. for Burglary 3rd degree and Grand Larceny 4th degree, class D and E felonies respectively.

Daniel Merrill is accused of forcibly entering the Candor EMS building in the early morning hours of May 11 and stealing approximately $2,000 cash from within. The burglary was recorded by video surveillance and the Sheriff’s Office received several valuable tips from the public after posting the footage to Facebook.
