To the person that has the egg cartons, I am very interested in them. Please call me at 972-4712.

What is Premarin? It is a top selling hormonal drug. Women who take it are unaware of the horrific pain horses suffer. For seven months, pregnant mares are shut in a tiny 8’ x 3’ stall. The horse cannot move or even lie down. A pulley is attached to their groin to collect drops of estrogen urine. They endure sores, infections and rashes. This information was taken from “Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation.” I took Premarin cream several years ago and my sister in-law took Premarin pills. We were told to stop because of cancer threats, etc. The foals are sold to gruesome butchers. The mares are only given water to make stronger estrogen urine. We must stop animal cruelty. They feel everything we feel!

Shame on whoever is stirring up rumors about the fire department for political purposes. The fire department has been through a lot in the last year or two and the last thing they need is petty, politicians trying to use the fire department for their own petty gains.

Has anyone else seen the dirty deeds going on in Owego? There are three things going on in Owego. I’ve got that sixth sense. I can see. If you can’t see something’s wrong. Something’s wrong with our law enforcement that we can’t get things done.

Mr. Reeseback, what a wonderful neighbor digging me out of the snow. I really like his lights on too!

~

Isis burns a Jordanian prisoner of war alive and a few days later emperor nobama tells us to remember the crusades and the inquisition. Give me a break Mr. President. Get off YOUR high horse, see reality in today’s world, not what existed 700 or 1,000 years ago. By the way, in case you don’t know Isis stands for the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria. ISLAMIC, get it? Stop being an Islamic apologist and start being a presidential leader.

Thank you Maureen on Lake Street for the information in regards to Thelma Rowe. I’m happy to here she is warm and safe in a nursing home. She needed to get off the streets and glad she’s being taken care of. Have a good day you all, enjoy the winter and stay warm!

I’m elderly and we have access to an outside cellar opening where our breakers and furnaces are. My breakers keep going off quite frequently and I cannot get down there because it’s snow covered. Who is responsible? Me the renter, or the person that owns the place? I was just wondering because I consider this a safety hazard.

Yesterday I ran into Jeff Sibley’s wife Linda and their daughter Jocelyn. I told them that I miss the boxing gym that Jeff had. I think it would be nice if someone else would open up a boxing gym because I really loved it.

The greatness of a nation should be judged by the way animals are treated. Mahatma Gandhi. Apparently we’re not doing such a good job but thankfully people like those from Stray Haven who find interest in taking care of the animals that other people don’t. Thank God for people like those and wishing Parrot the best and hopefully he can finally have a life of happiness and health. And for his previous owner, hopefully some day she will get what’s coming to her for the treatment of a poor animal that depended on her for his wellbeing.

Congratulations to all those who put the Beauty and the Beast musical together. The singers were outstanding, the orchestra sounded like the soundtrack, the costumes were excellent and the set designs were perfect. Thanks to all for their time and talent so we could enjoy a wonderful production. We loved it!

~

Remember when nobama said we must extend unemployment insurance again and again. Guess what? When the checks finally stopped a miracle happened! 246,000 people somehow went back to work! Nobama says that’s because the economy is booming. Give me a break! The Marxist nobama regime has no idea on how to handle the U.S. economy, healthcare or foreign policy.

I think it’s deplorable that nameless critics can have a say in this column because they lack the intestinal fortitude to face them face-to-face.

~

I guess these low gas prices were a joke. Too good to be true. People were just starting to have fun, doing a little traveling, have a little extra money in their pocket and the government doesn’t like that so they’ve got to raise the gas back up so people can sit home and do nothing again as usual. Government wants people to have no enjoyment whatsoever; they’ll take every dime they can out of you.

~

I know the Town of Owego superintendent doesn’t need any more bad roads, but he doesn’t have to have the county road given to him because it was a mess. He’s got enough of his own.

~

How many football fans think the Seattle Seahawks gave the Super Bowl away? Seattle called a very low percentage pass play that even a peewee football coach would never call. Here you have Marshawn Lynch, one of the best running backs in the NFL. After the game, Coach Pete Carroll is trying to come up with all kinds of reasons for them losing. Unfortunately none of his excuses make any sense. Seattle Seahawks had to fix in for the Super Bowl.

I’ve always suspected the Pennysaver of being a republican paper and since they didn’t print my article I guess it proved my facts. I will repeat it and hope they will print it. I guess it’s okay for democrats to sit back and be called names but as soon as you say something about republicans they don’t like it. They cry foul. Well, republicans in Tioga County have been trying to get all this free stuff forever, with the government giving all this free stuff out. Tioga County is probably one of the biggest receivers of free stuff in the state but yet these people sit back and it’s okay for them to get it but nobody else. It’s definitely the republican way! I can have and I can do it but nobody else can. It’s just pathetic that these people are so narrow-minded and they’ll sit there and take the facts and twist them into outright lies. That seems to be the republican way. I guess when you can control the media you can say what you want. If you say it long enough even the lies start becoming believable.

Is this becoming a secret society or what? Our village leaders all meet behind closed doors so nobody knows what’s going on. The Harris trial can’t be video taped. The Endicott lady who has been missing for I don’t know how long was found dead. That’s secret; nobody can know the circumstances around her death. Nobody can know where they found the Mark Twain cemetery plaque. Many months ago there was a stabbing at Tioga Trails in Owego and nobody still knows why that was or who the person was who got stabbed. This is just getting ridiculous.

~

I vote Sheldon Williams for Sherriff and Mayor of Tioga County and the village and the town.

~

I have a question that someone in the know might be able to answer. If Cal is acquitted this time and Michele’s family sues for wrongful death like OJ Simpson, he should pay for causing her death even if he didn’t actually hit her, because he knows who did.

Why are some Village of Owego trustees so inclined to abolish the Owego Police Department? Don’t they realize that most of the people in the village want the police department? I hope they find out real well after the village election that people want the police department for protection and safety.

~

Could someone please help me find out about the HEAP programs here in Tioga County? For the last two months I’ve been trying to call their number and still I get no answer and a very rude recording. Some people out there do need help. We are working people and we’re struggling with our finances. Anyone with information, could you please list it here in this column?

~

What is the matter with Time Warner Cable channel 14 in the Tioga County area? As you are flipping through your channels it’s about 25,000 decibels louder than any other channel. It’s just stupid!

Most people agree that the Owego swim coach is doing a great job. The kids respect him and they have developed a winning attitude, but the swim coach should not also be responsible for publishing the pool schedule, maintaining the pool condition and supervising the volunteer lifeguards. The community swim schedule on the OFA website is often published late and is not correct. When swim activities do not use the lane dividers, 6 a.m. swimmers find the swim ladders and lifeguard stations are not in place and lane dividers are not deployed. All too often 6 a.m. community swimmers have had to be cancelled because the lifeguard simply did not show up. These problems are not the coach’s fault. He needs help.

Brian Williams is being punished for not telling the truth. If honesty were a prerequisite for television, then Fox News would have gone off the air years ago.

~

Is it true our Owego School taxes are going up 45 percent? I was just looking at home prices in our area and taxes in Town of Tioga went up 40 to 50 percent. This is outrageous!

~

Had someone come to our door this morning driving a red mini van selling meat. There was no signage on the vehicle. Is this legal? I certainly wouldn’t buy any of the meat.

~

In this era of climate change urgency, there is only one question elected officials need to ask when weighing decisions, “Does it support life?”

~

This is to whoever decided that eliminating the ability to turn Right On Red at the intersections of North Avenue and Main Street and Court and Main Street in the Village of Owego. Can you possibly find more ways to make a bottleneck in the town of Owego? Maybe closing one lane of the Susquehanna Bridge should be next! Being backed up almost all the way back to Thompson’s Grocery is nuts. Will the Idiot responsible, please step forward?

Just received a notice of toll violation from the New York State Thursday. I have not been near the Thursday in many years, but they insist my license plate is on film. Must be I have one of those new cars that drive themselves.

Good news and bad news: 2,212: the number of guns seized from carry-on luggage at U.S. airports in 2014, a 22 percent increase from 2013; 15 percent improvement in fourth- and fifth-graders math scores after they participated in a meditation – mindfulness program vs. those who didn’t, according to a study from “Briefing” Time magazine. Feb. 9, 2015.

“Residents of Colorado are almost literally rolling in the green. After more than a year of legal marijuana sales, the state has collected so much in tax revenue that its taxpayers may actually be getting a cut of the action themselves. In all, if funds are redistributed, it would only amount to about $7.63 per adult, so it’s not exactly a windfall for the taxpayers. That’s around $30.5 million. Even though Colorado state officials were off on their initial estimates as to how much revenue the state would bring in during the first year, the redistribution of tax revenues does seem to indicate that the legalization experiment in Colorado has been a success.” From wallstcheatsheet.com.

Regarding the question of working and collecting disability and a paycheck. There are several variants. If you are getting partial disability you can work. The government limits hours. There are programs for the disabled to work and still collect. Before you judge you should know the facts. Give credit to the ones who have problems and try to work. Till you walk in their shoes don’t judge what they can or can’t do. But for those who take advantage they should stop.

Brian Williams really screwed up and I guess he has to go. Lester Holt is obviously the person for the job as he does a remarkable job on Holidays and weekends as a fill-in for Brian. I hope NBC does not compound their problem and make another screw up by giving the assignment to Katie Couric again. She had the job once and was replaced, so Holt should get the job as anchor. Good luck, Lester, you earned it!

Social Security has not contributed one nickel to our deficit or our national debt. It has a $2.8 trillion surplus. It will be able to pay 100 percent of promised benefits to every eligible recipient for the next 18 years, just as it has done for the past 79 years. And, all we need to do is ask millionaires and billionaires to start paying their fair share and we not only extend the life of the Social Security trust fund, we can afford to expand benefits for millions of Americans.

News about North Dakota’s boom-and-bust is worth noting. “Oil production has grown 600 percent in the last decade. Small towns, called ‘man camps,’ have sprouted with growing populations of oil field workers, bringing both increased economic activity and employment and increased crime and social problems such as sexual assaults. But plummeting oil prices have the potential to upend all that in ways that are hard to predict. Williston, in the heart of the boom, grew from 13,000 to more than double today, which meant major investments in housing and infrastructure. The city is currently $300 million in debt and four years behind in paying off that debt, and plunging oil prices could impact its ability to do so.” I am thankful that New York has been spared this socially and economically volatile industrial development. But we still need to be careful about fracking waste fluid that is trucked in from Pa.

The beauty of the Internet is that it developed in a free market and is free of thousands of insidious taxes, weaved into every thread. It is pure Adam Smith economics and has brought great benefit throughout the world. Obama under the deceptive name of “Net Neutrality” is making his play to control the best example of free enterprise since the invention of money. Once the Fed gets their hooks into this it will be the Woodrow Wilson temporary tax on telephones to finance WWI. Every Federal and State agency will step up to the trough and take a larger slice of the pie. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it.

~

I do not think that Binghamton has a bigger problem than parking in downtown. It is hard to believe that the planning commission would approve adding 180 beds in central city when it equates to another 90-plus automobiles seven days a week. I am glad a judge had the brains to reject it. They should fix the parking problem before undertaking any more college rooming expansion.

~

It looks like the Harris lawyers are trying to do everything possible to scuttle the trial. Delay it as long as possible and eventually they will not have 12 jurors. What a shame that money triumphs over justice.

Amazing! A Jordanian pilot is murdered hideously, the President of Jordon declares war, goes on a campaign to destroy Isis via air power, flying more sorties in two days than we’ve flown against the same enemy in a month. Isis kills an American female, our “president” goes on a blitz to obfuscate and distract with his silly global climate change nonsense! Notice a difference here?
