Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital re-accredited as OSHA VPP Star site

Members of the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Safety Circle celebrate their success.

Guthrie is pleased to announce that Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital has been re-accredited as an OSHA VPP Star site, the highest level of distinction. The hospital is one of only ten hospitals in the US to achieve this award.

The OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is a national partnership between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and businesses, recognizing the best of the best in employee safety. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital has been a member of the VPP program since 2003. Businesses who adopt VPP principles have injury and illness rates below the national average for like businesses, as well as increased staff morale.

Dennis McCarthy, Director of Safety and Regulatory Compliance, and the lead for the hospital’s Safety Circle team said: “We are very pleased to receive this re-accreditation from OSHA. This re-accreditation comes after the diligence and hard work of staff across Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. The safety of our employees and patients is the top priority for Guthrie, and we are pleased to be recognized in such an elite group for our commitment to an outstanding workplace.”
