Winter cold is here! Let’s help our furry friends stay cozy and warm this cold season!

Animal Care Sanctuary’s Canine Care and Cattery are joining forces and are hosting a “From Hay to Haven” event during the months of January and February. They will be gathering donations of hay bales (round or square) and storing them in their barn to donate to those with outdoor pets in order to help them stay warm in the harsh temperatures.

Although it is best to have pets inside with their families where it is warm, Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS) realizes that in some circumstances this is not always possible.

ACS encourages everyone to please bring your pets inside if you can! But for those who really can’t, they would like to try and supply hay for those in need. Throughout the winter months, bales of hay will be available to pet owners with outside pets free of charge. This service is available to both canine and feline friends alike.

ACS is looking for more donations of hay bales, especially as the cold weather continues. If you or someone you know would like to donate hay bales, please call ACS at (570) 596-2200.

If you are in need of hay bales, please call ACS or stop by their East Smithfield, Pa. location during their regular business hours. ACS is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Have a heart; please bring your pets indoors. Remember, if you feel cold outside dressed in insulated clothing, your pet is also cold, even with fur for insulation. But if a pet does need to stay outdoors, even for a short time, have a heart and share the warmth!
