Children’s Dental Health Month is a month-long national health observance held every February to promote the benefits of good oral health to children, their parents and caregivers, and many others. Tooth decay is the most common childhood disease, and it is almost entirely preventable with good oral habits.

Over 40 UPK students learned about good dental health including brushing your teeth at least twice a day, flossing in the evening, and eating healthy foods to avoid cavities. They also were able to practice brushing teeth on the Public Health Department’s puppet dinosaur and dragon.

Each student went home with their own dental kit that included a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and a two-minute timer.
