OWEGO — The Ti-Ahwaga Community Players will be hosting the inaugural Tioga Tunes at Ti-Ahwaga (TT@T) on Sept. 12, from 4-9 p.m. The Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center is located at 42 Delphine Street in Owego. The event came about when a couple of local musicians visited the Performing Arts Center for the first time and noted that it would be perfect as a music venue. With the idea of supporting local non-profit organizations, the concept for the benefit was hatched.
The event will benefit Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA (https://strayhavenspca.org) and Ti-Ahwaga Community Players (https://tiahwaga.com/).
Doors open at 4 p.m. and will feature performances by Crooked River Saints, The Lonesome Walkers, The Gritty Lowdown, and Tom Jolu–all bands or musicians predominantly based in Tioga County. There will also be a basket raffle including donations from several local businesses.
Tickets are $20 or $25 if you’d like to include a beverage. TCP’s concessions will be available for purchase, including soft drinks, snacks, grilled cheese and tomato soup, beer, wine, and seltzers.
Tickets can be purchased at Stray Haven Humane Society, Waterman’s Cafe and Tasting Barn, The Shed Restaurant and Bar, or Owego Donut & Beer Co. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
Stray Haven is a Humane Society dedicated to ensuring the protection of animals through education and service. Located in Waverly, NY, they have served Tioga County, NY, and the Greater Valley area for more than 50 years and have been a no kill animal shelter since 2011.
Ti-Ahwaga Community Players was incorporated in 1960 and has been producing quality live theatre here locally ever since, and encouraging the intellectual, moral, and social advancement of its members. In 2001, the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center, TCP’s new permanent home, opened its doors.
