Still time to get in on VFW Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser

OWEGO — The VFW Post 1371 will be hosting its bi-annual fundraiser, Designer Bag Bingo on Sept. 12 at the Post, 207 Main Street in Owego. Doors open for VIP table attendees at noon, and open for the general public at 12:30 p.m. Welcome and introductions will start at 1 p.m. and Bingo begins promptly at 1:15 p.m.

Each ticket includes 15 games of Bingo across 10 boards (three cards per game) & a Bingo dauber. There will be no refunds, but tickets are transferable to another person (the Post is not responsible for condoning transfer of tickets in any capacity).

Seating is limited, first come first served! There will be no reserving general admission seats without physical presence. If you’d like guaranteed seating together, please arrive promptly when doors open for the public (or consider an upgrade to a VIP table). The VFW has always had plenty of room in the past for groups to sit together!

The VFW is going back to physical tickets in hopes of streamlining check-in for all advance purchased tickets as much as we can! You’ll rip your ticket at the perforation and drop the small tab in the Door Prize bucket.

VIP Table guests will proceed right to their table (marked on their ticket). General admission ticketed guests will just need to grab their included boards and choose their seat! (Day-of purchases will require waiting in line.)

A VIP table includes 8 tickets and early entry for your group at noon. On your VIP table you’ll also have a plentiful charcuterie board and festive desserts, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and there will be table prizes. Lastly, it guarantees group seating.

No outside food or drink permitted. (It’s a fundraiser after all) There will also be two intermissions (breaks) during the event.

You can pay Lori for tickets via Venmo or Cash App, or purchase tickets with cash/check at the Post.

You can buy additional boards. There will be additional boards (packs of 10 boards, 3 cards per game) for purchase. You can play as many boards as you can handle!

This biannual fundraiser supports programming provided by the Post to the local community, like the annual Christmas Party. Our community events fully depend on fundraisers like these.

You can decide how you want to play your boards, skipping games for purses you have less interest in winning. The bags will be laid out on a table for viewing and labeled by game number.

There will be a 50-50, raffle baskets, and door prizes at the event. No winners will walk away empty handed. There will be tie-breakers and prizes for all runners-up.
