Lehigh Valley Ray Shaver Depot hosting 25th anniversary 9/11 commemorative tribute

NEWARK VALLEY — A commemorative tribute honoring the nearly 3,000 men and women who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, will be held Sept. 11 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Lehigh Valley Ray Shaver Depot in Newark Valley.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks, making the evening a particularly meaningful opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance. Dennis Mullen of the Veterans Association will serve as master of ceremonies. Speakers will include Don Castellucci, Wendy Post, Dean Morgan and Peter Gordon. Music has always played an important role in helping lift our spirits and bring people together during times of tragedy. Rick Pedro, Ryan Wilson and Valley Harmony will provide musical selections throughout the evening, offering an opportunity for remembrance, reflection, and hope.

Refreshments will be available prior to the start of the program. The Depot will close during the program and will reopen at approximately 6:00 p.m., with music and refreshments available. The community is invited to come together to remember those who were lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of those who responded, and reflect on the lasting impact of September 11 as we mark 25 years since that tragic day, the day time stood still.
