The Town of Owego Highway Department will be doing a fall leaf pick-up beginning the week of Oct. 20, 2025. They are asking Town of Owego residents to pile their leaves neatly by the curb or roadside, but not in the road. Do not put your leaves in bags, as they will not be able to pick them up; they will vacuum up the leaves.
Keep in mind, the nozzle of the vacuum has a limited reach. Also, do not include any garden or plant waste, ornamental grasses, sticks, or foreign objects with the leaves, as they can slow the process and/ or break the machine.
The town plans on coming back each week throughout the season, weather permitting. You do not need to call to schedule a pickup.
