For the first time ever, the U.S. JR National Championships are coming to the East Coast at Action Park East in Greene, Friday, Oct. 10 and Champion Speedway in Owego, Saturday, Oct. 11! The top 15 JR speedway racers from the West Coast will be traveling here to take on the top 15 from the East in this historic event!
Headlining the field from the West is 2024 World Youth Champion, Brady Landon, who won the championship in Europe last summer, and 2024 US National 150cc Champion, Riley Rearick! Topping the list of locals is the current East Coast Champion, Cody “The Kid” Pierce, a 14 year old from Candor who has been the talk of the tracks this season, along with “The Pirate,” Joel Farwell, of Apalachin, another 14 year old who has been impressive.
Along with the JR Nationals, also on the program both nights will be the adult Fall Brawl Championships, which will feature several visiting guest stars, including 2-time US Open Champion and former international star, Chris Kerr of California.
Landon, who is being touted as a future World level star, will debut in the Division One lineup on a 500 as a rookie as well. Local favorites taking part will be current Track Champion, Casey Donholt, of Port Crane, who won 6 features this season; Caleb Stewart of Apalachin, who won 4, Spencer Portararo of Endicott, who won 2, Levi Harris of Windsor and Albert Smith of Maine; and more!
The ATV racing kicks off Friday night at Action Park East in Greene at 6:30 and the speedway program will start at approximately 7:45. The Speedway racing kicks off at Champion on Saturday at 5:30 and the ATV program the same time on their separate track on the property. The band, The Kiil, will be playing at Champion Saturday immediately following the races around 9:15 p.m.
