On May 5, 2016, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team with assistance from the Troop “C” Uniform Force, and Sayre Pennsylvania Police Department located and arrested two Sayre, Pennsylvania residents for possession of 24 grams of heroin following a traffic stop conducted on I-81 in the Town of Kirkwood, Broome County.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on their 2009 Honda Accord which resulted in the seizure of the vehicle, approximately 24 grams of heroin, a digital scale, packaging materials, fentanyl strips, cell phones and drug paraphernalia.

As a result Lance E. Gesford, age 32 of 102 Blackman Street, Sayre, Pa. was arrested for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, and Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree.

During the traffic stop Gesford presented false identification, and it was discovered he was wanted on arrest warrants from the Sayre Police Department for assault and retail theft in Pennsylvania, and Waverly Police Department for assault.

Also arrested was Nicole L. Brennan, age 31 of 102 Blackman Street, Sayre, Pa. for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, and Vehicle and Traffic Law charges.

Both subjects were arraigned in Kirkwood Town Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
