Guthrie Hospice will be offering a five-week support group for those dealing with bereavement. It will begin meeting on Thursday, April 7 at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. The Community Bereavement Support Group is intended for anyone who has experienced a loss.
The phases of grief are universal; the way each person passes through each phase is different. By attending the Community Bereavement Support Group, you will find support from others who have suffered a loss and will know that you are not alone in your grieving process.
Rev. Jeffrey Wilkinson, Guthrie chaplain and bereavement coordinator and Karen Robinson, Guthrie Hospice social worker, will facilitate the support group. Topics will include the grieving process, coping skills, and communication and stress management.
The group will meet every Thursday from April 7 through May 5, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in 2 North Conference Room at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. To register for the group or to find out more about coping with grief, please call Guthrie Hospice at 1-800-598-6155.
