Candor Historical Society announces February meeting

The Candor Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Candor Town Hall.

Long before there was the convenience of power woodworking tools, craftsmen produced exquisite wood products with hand tools. Some of the most important tools these craftsmen used were woodworking planes.

The program for this meeting will feature noted, local craftsman Dick Warner who will present a look at the history and variety of woodworking planes and how they were used to produce such products as picture frames, cabinets and other furniture pieces.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to come and learn from the past.
