The Tioga County Boys & Girls Club (TCBGC) announces their second annual “All-In” event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Owego Treadway Inn located at 1100 State Rte. 17C in Owego, N.Y. The gaming event will raise funds for the ongoing efforts of the TCBGC located at 201 Erie St. in Owego.

Sponsored by The Wagner Companies, Owego Harford Railway, Crestwood, The Goat Boy and Scott, Smith & Son, “All-In” is an evening of fun and entertainment for adults, which will feature casino-style games, including roulette, craps and poker. Following a successful first annual “All-In” in 2014, additional tables are being added this year.

For guests not planning to play, the event will offer other activities like a silent auction, door prizes and raffles. Great food, a cash bar and live music will also be on hand.

“All-In is a nice social event,” shared Nicolas Ruiz, president of the TCBGC Board of Directors, and he added, “It’s for a great cause.”

With a strong community connection, the TCBGC provides a safe and fun place for Tioga County youth to participate in athletic and social programs. Engaging young athletes in a variety of team sports across different seasons, not only are skills enhanced, but there is a focus on character and teamwork as well. Social programs offered at TCBGC strive to help youth achieve success in academics, leadership, character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles.

TCBGC Director, Katie Tracy shared, “We’re expanding social programs for youth who may not play team sports, or for those who want to do both.”

Tracy explained that social programs encompass arts and crafts and a tech room with computers and iPad use, among others. For the many youth who utilize the facility after school, staff or volunteers are on-site to help with homework, too. New programs will focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineeering and Math) and other creative classes such as a photography club.

Tioga County youth ages five to 18 benefits from activities and events offered at TCBGC, and for adults and students age 16 or older, the club offers a state-of-the-art fitness facility, pick-up basketball and adult programs.

Ruiz shared, “We encourage anyone who is not familiar with the club to stop in and take a tour.”

A number of positive renovations have taken place over the past several months, and Tracy is eager to continue to build the programs at TCBGC. Community support for fundraisers such as the “All-In” event significantly helps TCBGC and the future growth of the club.
