New York based Indie Rock artist Matt Pond, who has been fronting the band Matt Pond PA since 1998, is performing a special series of concerts across the eastern U.S. in which he and Chris Hansen, the band’s guitarist, play for small groups hosted in the intimate setting of the living rooms of fans.
On Oct. 5 at 8 p.m., they will be bringing this tour to Owego, making a stop in the living room of the home of Douglas and Mary Grace Camin, a couple who own a restored mid-century modern home in Owego that has previously been featured on the annual Owego home tour. The event is open to the public and tickets are on sale now.
Matt Pond PA released their 11th studio album, The State of Gold, in June, and they are preparing a nationwide tour with the full band beginning in late October. Prior to that tour, they are engaging with longtime fans through this special concert series of “Living Room Shows,” in which fans offer their living rooms up for the traveling artists to perform and give new listeners a chance to hear their music in a unique, unusual, and engaging environment. For these shows, Matt and Chris perform a stripped down electric guitar set, at a volume appropriate for a living room.
Matt Pond PA’s music is classic Indie Rock, with Pond himself described recently by NPR as “an old fashioned troubadour above all.” Matt Pond PA’s music has been heard in a variety of places, including Sirius XM’s Alt Nation, and on a number of national television campaigns for brands such as Starbucks.
Tickets are $20 each (all money is a donation to the artist), and must be purchased in advance. There is a limit of 45 tickets available.
