A DEC staff member showcases the band and its information.
Tom Bell, staff member of Cortland Department of Environmental Protection, bands a Canadian Goose at Hickories Park in Owego, N.Y.
Geese completely shed and replace flight feathers once a year. They can’t fly when they molt, so they go to a safe place like Hickories Park.
Being grounded made it easy to round the geese up to band them.
