Valley Chorus to present spring concert

The Valley Chorus presents “60 Years of Song” on Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m. at the Athens Area High School Auditorium under the direction of Debra Lauper, and with Larry Hoey, concert pianist along with instrumentalists.

Selections include “There is a Balm in Gilead” from the Tuskegee Choir Series by William L. Dawson; I’m Always Chasing Rainbows arranged by Ray Conniff; “The Pink Panther”, a Henry Mancini piece arranged by Jay Althouse; “Dream”, words and music by Johnny Mercer and arranged by Hawley Ades; and “Time to Say Goodbye” arranged by Mac Huff.

General admission is $10 with tickets available at the door or from any Valley Chorus member. Students 13 to 21 and seniors 60 and older are $8. Children 12 and under are “free” if accompanied by an adult.
